Why Charity Lawson’s Brother Nehemiah Is A Bachelor Legend

The Bachelorette season 20 star Charity Lawson’s older brother Nehemiah made a surprise appearance on premiere night, and he has become a true Bachelor Nation legend. In recent years, friends and family members of leads and contestants have caught the attention of viewers during their appearances on the shows. Fans cheered when Clayton Echard’s dad, Brian, brought his son back down to Earth after he told three women he loved them on his season. Gabby Windey’s grandfather, Grandpa John, also captivated viewers. Most significantly, on Hannah Brown’s season, Tyler Cameron’s best friend, Matt James, was so popular that he became the star of The Bachelor season 25.

During The Bachelorette season 20, Nehemiah made quite an impression as he stepped in to help Charity navigate her chaotic first night as The Bachelorette. Charity comes from a close family consisting of her parents, Vickie and David, who have been married for 48 years, and her three siblings, David, Amiyaka, and Nehemiah. During her hometown date on Zach Shallcross’ Bachelor season, her family discussed her previous breakup, which was difficult for her. Because of this and her elimination from Zach’s season, Nehemiah wanted to make sure that the men competing for his sister’s heart were there for the right reasons.

Nehemiah Lawson Is A Protective Older Brother

On The Bachelorette season 20 premiere, Nehemiah went undercover to find out the truth about her 25 suitors’ intentions. He became an “Undercover Brother,” disguising himself as Charles, the bartender, at the cocktail party to watch out for everything the men said and did. Nehemiah explained, “Because I’m the older brother, I’m on the lookout. I have a plan. It involves a disguise.” Nehemiah wore a curly black wig, a fake mustache, and a fedora. In his confessional, Nehemiah vowed, “I will come put these guys in their place because men can be dogs.” He promised, “If there’s any guy that’s here for the wrong reasons, they’re out.”

Nehemiah spent the night listening in on conversations among the men. After The Bachelorette season 20 suitor, Brayden Bowers received a kiss from Charity, he was so excited about it that he bragged to the other men, including Nehemiah. He didn’t realize he was kissing and telling Charity’s brother. Nehemiah also asked the men if they thought they had a chance of getting the first impression rose, and Brayden said he thought he would. Nehemiah saw this as a red flag that Brayden was overconfident and knew he had to warn Charity about him.

Later in the night, Nehemiah told Charity about being in disguise all night. She was completely shocked. He told her he “heard good things and some interesting things.” He informed her all about Brayden, calling him energetic and extroverted. However, he also said it was problematic that he seemed cocky and sure that he might get a rose. Charity, on the other hand, loved Brayden’s excitement about her and decided to give him the first impression rose because of it. Although Charity didn’t end up taking Nehemiah’s advice, it was admirable that he tried so hard to protect his little sister from possible heartache.

Nehemiah Lawson Has A Great Personality

The Bachelorette season 20 star Charity has described Nehemiah as her best friend and her rock through heartbreaks. He has a wonderful personality, which is why so many people liked him when he appeared on Zach’s Bachelor season. People related to him as a protective sibling, and they understood his reservations about the process of the show. He gave Charity a reality check without hurting her feelings, and it was clear that he only had her best interests at heart.

Nehemiah has emotional intelligence, and he wasn’t afraid to express his emotions and cry with Charity about her difficult past breakup before Zach. He told her that he didn’t know if she was going to be okay after that heartbreak, and he didn’t like seeing her so upset when it happened because she deserves the world. While some other Bachelor Nation family members have come off as combative and rude while expressing their doubts, Nehemiah was thoughtful and respectful toward Zach and Charity.

On The Bachelorette season 20, Nehemiah brought some humor to his overprotective nature by disguising himself as Charles, the bartender. He was willing to make himself look completely ridiculous to make sure the men were there for the right reasons. He has a special way of being gentle with his honesty that puts Charity at ease, which helps her make the right decisions. Nehemiah was one of the bright spots on premiere night. It was comforting to know there was someone there who was looking out for Charity.
