Who Is Aleks From Vanderpump Rules & His Connection To Below Deck?

As Vanderpump Rules regains popularity through Scandoval and beyond, eagle-eyed viewers noticed a previous reality TV star in two episodes of the hit series: Aleks Taldykin. Though he only appeared in two episodes, the development behind the scenes of why he appeared in Vanderpump Rules despite not working at SUR is relatively straightforward to unravel.

Vanderpump Rules began airing in 2013 and focuses on the staff at Lisa Vanderpump’s restaurant, SUR. Many cast members have gained prominence since appearing on the hit reality series in the past ten years, including controversial Jax Taylor and his wife Brittany Cartwright and, of course, the scandalous love triangle of Tom Sandoval, Ariana Madix, and Raquel Leviss. While Vanderpump Rules season 10 went out with a bang, there are still questions about Vanderpump Rules season 11. However, after consuming earlier season reruns, Aleks appeared in two episodes in 2016.

Aleks Briefly Dated Kristen Doute

Aleks appeared in two episodes in 2016: “Pucker & Pout” and “Secrets Revealed.” While he never worked at SUR, he briefly dated ex-Vanderpump Rules cast member Kristen Doute after her breakup with James Kennedy, who was fired from SUR. According to The Daily Dish, Kristen and Aleks had been friends for over a year before dating. She asked him for a serving job on his boat, which didn’t work out, but they briefly got together. Their scenes on the show felt more platonic than romantic, so unsurprisingly, the romance didn’t last long.

Aleks Was The First Officer On Below Deck Season 1

In the Reddit thread started by lorilynn72, fans watched their reality TV worlds collide when they noticed Aleks from Below Deck appeared on two episodes of Vanderpump Rules. Aleks served as the first officer on Below Deck season 1 and is now an entrepreneur selling super yachts. While some Reddit fans were surprised, many commented on Kristen’s dating habits exhibited on the show. “I’m convinced Kristen is friends with and/or dated most people in WeHo, no shade!! I think most of the VPR group only got together or met other friends thru her.

That’s a very accurate statement,” another fan agreed, saying, “She seemed to be linked to many of the VPR friendships/relationships.” While their relationship was short-lived, it seems par for the course for Kristen. Their relationship mainly played platonic onscreen, so it’s unsurprising that the pair are allegedly still friends.

While Aleks has left the reality TV world in favor of selling super yachts through Elite Yacht Management and Denison Yachting, he was a blast from the past for fans re-watching Vanderpump Rules and noticing his presence. The Bravo reality TV world is smaller than many think, and it’s fun to see the Below Deck alum’s connection with other shows.
