How To Get the Reins of Ashava Horse Armor in Diablo 4

In Diablo IV, one of the aspects many players are eager to reach is the ability to obtain a mount, and equally important, customizations for that mount. One in particular worth grabbing is the Reins of Ashava Horse Armor. However, obtaining it requires battling the boss of the same name.

Ashava, the Pestilent, specifically, is the one that will need to be conquered in order to obtain this horse armor. World Bosses in Diablo 4 are different from the traditional dungeon bosses as they spawn in designated intervals and only become available after progressing through the campaign.

The Reins of Ashava Horse Armor is not a guaranteed item drop for this boss fight, so players will likely need to attempt this several times before they receive it unless they’re lucky enough to get it on their first go around.

How To Find Ashava, The Pestilent

Unfortunately, World Bosses are a little trickier to beat as simply tracking them down is often more work than the actual fight itself. Ashava specifically, can spawn in any of the available World Boss arenas, but the apparent easiest place to find them is The Crucible in the Fractured Peaks region in Diablo 4 as this is where Ashava tends to spawn more often than not. Unfortunately, even knowing where they are more likely to be found isn’t of great assistance as Ashava only has a chance to spawn once every six hours.

Not only that, but Ashava will only hang around for fifteen minutes once they do spawn, meaning that players have a very narrow window to engage and defeat Ashava in Diablo 4. However, one helpful factor that can make this process easier is that as long players are in Fractured Peaks, they will get a notification 30 minutes before Ashava spawns, so they have ample time to make their way over and be prepared.

How To Defeat Ashava The Pestilent

In order to obtain the Reins of Ashava Horse Armor, players will need to successfully beat Ashava as many times as it takes for them to drop the Armor. The best way to prepare for any of the World Bosses is not too dissimilar from what is recommended for traditional bosses in Diablo 4.

Reevaluate the skill tree and ensure that all skill points have been spent and are being utilized in the best way possible. Take a minute to look over everything and refund and points that can be better served somewhere else. Players should also ensure they are at least level 25 in order to take on this boss.

Any Poison Resistant items that are available should be equipped before heading into the Ashava World Boss fight.

Additionally, it’s highly recommended that players don’t head into these fights alone. Not only are these fights time sensitive, which means they need to be completed quickly, but Ashava is nearly impossible to pull off solo. Not only should players have assistance, but they should try to procure the largest group they can, ideally the fully allotted 12-person maximum, which should be slightly easier to achieve with Diablo 4‘s co-op capabilities as well.

When it comes to actually beating Ashava, their main methods of attack is going to involve covering the arena with poison as well as some melee attacks. Try to stay underneath them to avoid any direct hits and work as a team to bring Ashava down.

Once Ashava is down, the drop will be random. Those that are lucky will potentially get the Reins of Ashava Horse Armor on their first run. If not, Ashava will need to be found and taken on again during their designated availability window for another shot at it. While this can be tedious, it is not necessarily a negative thing as the Diablo 4 World Bosses drop plenty of other lucrative items as well, so players will never truly come out of the match empty-handed.
