Chris Hemsworth & Other Marvel Stars Wish Chris Evans A Happy Birthday

Chris Hemsworth and other Marvel stars celebrate Chris Evans‘ birthday. Debuting in 2011 as Steve Rogers in Captain America: The First Avenger, the actor played the moral hero for almost a decade before retiring from the role at the end of Avengers: Endgame. Despite his Marvel Cinematic Universe exit, it’s clear that he is still beloved by many of his old co-stars as proven by their birthday greetings.

Several MCU stars have taken to social media to send Evans on his birthday, including Hemsworth who calls him “my favorite Chris.” Check out their posts below:

Reynolds wasn’t able to work with Evans in the MCU. By the time Deadpool was absorbed by Marvel Studios, the actor was already done with his stint as Captain America. For context, however, they collaborated in Shawn Levy’s Free Guy. The rest, however, were actors that Evans worked closely with during his time as the Star-Spangled Avenger.

Will Chris Evans Return To The MCU In Phase 5 or 6?

Sam and Old Man Steve Shaking Hands in Avengers Endgame

Rumors of Evans returning to the MCU as Steve Rogers have long been making the rounds online. That being said, nothing concrete has indicated that this is actually in the cards for the Multiverse Saga. In fact, both the actor and Kevin Feige have previously denied the claims. However, considering the burgeoning multiverse, not to mention Rogers’ uncertain fate after Avengers: Endgame, there’s always hope that he will make a surprise cameo somewhere.

For what it’s worth, there’s a compelling reason for Rogers to return to the MCU. After handing the Captain America shield to Sam Wilson, Old Man Steve Rogers just faded into obscurity. The specifics of his final time-traveling escapade remain unclear. It is one of the biggest questions left unanswered from the Infinity Saga. Marvel Studios bringing him back allows them to finally clarify lingering queries — if they want to.

Considering the way the Multiverse Saga is shaping up, however, it’s probably for the better if Chris Evans‘ proposed return is delayed until after Phase 6. That way, the MCU can focus on its existing characters and not be distracted by the return of a founding Avenger. In any case, if Feige wants to bring back Steve Rogers, they can always find a way to do that.
